The LA Times has had little to no interest in the black population of LA since the Watts riots. They started with catering and building up the Latino population in the early 80's when they saw that was going to be the dominant "minority" and, I have no problem with that as they didn't see the advent of the Internet and they were doing it all for business reasons, and thought they would be buying thier papers, but found out that it was a waste of time, since the Latino's like the Asians have thier own outlet for daily news.

All that said, its still one of the best papers in the world, although, the cut backs have made it more of a USA Today than anything else, and, to be honest, they have done some good indepth series about blacks in the state, a couple of them a year.
