Manny, how come you are always upset and why do you constantly attack people like yourself? Do you realize that gay people in Jamaica are being killed? Do you care about their lives. Do you know anything about the 3-year-old black child who was punched and killed by his dad, because he thought the little boy was gay? Do you care about that little boy? You would be powerful if only you take that same energy and use it against them because we don't have anything against you. Those guys would likely hurt you for just being you and walking to the corner store. Again, take your anger and you it against people who dislike you because we do not have a problem with you.

Geoff, Sorry, but I really don't give a crap that some heterosexuals had to miss out on a concert because some of us decided it was time to get in some faces about lyrics that encourage people to kill us. Those heterosexual music fans will have many, many more opportunities to go and groove to the sounds of these and other homohaters, but thanks to the efforts of many people, they won't be doing under the auspices of an AIDS service organization founded by a Gay man. By the way, AIDS has been around for 25 years, have Beenie, Buju or TOK done anything at all to bring attention to this scourge? Have they donated any money? There's certainly no shortage of opportunities.

Manny, I think that is terrific that you love Foxy so much. And Beenie. And TOK. All that love has to go somewhere. It's a shame there isn't more going toward yourself. Maybe someday you'll get to the point where you realize there is no payoff in supporting people who hate you, or think you're there for them to disrespect and laugh at while they take your dollars...You need to get your self-respect off the DL.

RAPPER FOXY BROWN WAS SUPPOSED TOO PERFORM AND SHE HAS HOMOPHOBIC LYRICS AND I LOVE HER TOO DEATH,I ENCOURAGE HER TOO SAY WHAT SHE WANTS,WHEN SHE WANTS AND SHE DOES NOT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT PROTESTING HOMOSEXUALS WHO ARE SELFISH AND WANT THINGS THERE WAY.SHE IS GOING TOO SAY WHAT SHE WANTS TOO SAY.

MANNY

If you all think the reason they cancelled that concert was bec ause of a bunch of selfish bitching queens and lesbians who want things too go there way without considering the possibility of others who like it,then you are totally mistaken, yall need read and listen too the real reason the concert was cancelled.Yall should of heard the protest and anger from heterosexuals that looked forward too seeing beenie man and TOK ,yall dont consider how they feel, yall so damn selfish and sensitive you make other heterosexuals think horrible of homosexuals and they see us as a bunch of never satisfied bitching individuals who are selfish and wants things our way as if we deserve special treatment.I see why guys remain on the DL as well as girls.I see what my friend means by not wanting too associate with the gay society because of how hypocritical, selfish, inconsiderate, foolish many individuals are within it.sighs..

Geoff

Here is a thoughtful post from someone who sees both sides of the issue: http://thepseudoartisticpunk.blogspot.com/

The reason that the concert was cancelled altogether was because the line-up would no longer be strong enough to fill the venue, combined with the fact that the majority of the people who purchased tickets would not be happy with the fact that the headlining artist was taken off the bill. Additionally, LIFEbeat felt that it would be in bad taste to continue on with the concert considering all the bad publicity.

What do they mean by "* LIFEbeat will have no involvement in nor benefit from any attempted resurrection of the Reggae Gold Live concert by any parties"?

Is someone else trying to revive the concert with the same homophobic artists or gay friendly artists?
