New Busta Remix Uses Homophobic Language
This just in from the world of entertainment…
It seems hair wasn’t the only thing Busta lost when he cut off of locs, apparently he lost his mind too.
The new promotional remix of rapper Busta Rhymes’ hit single “Touch It” features Lloyd Banks, DMX, Mary J. Blige, Missy Elliot, Papoose, and Rah Digga.
It also features a new line from Busta saying “Fuck you faggot, I shot at you!”
Yes, you read right. It seems Busta has been hanging out with DMX for too long, who has been linked to homophobic lyrics before.
Busta Rhymes (born Trevor Tahiem Smith, Jr. on May 20, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York) punningly took his name from former NFL football player George "Buster" Rhymes. Trevor Smith is of Jamaican heritage, which could be a reason for his latest slip of the tongue. At the age of 12, his family moved to Uniondale, a suburb of New York City on Long Island, where he was raised and eventually met up with other MCs from the growing New York area hip hop community.
Earlier this year in Byron Hurt’s documentary 'Beyond Beats & Rhymes,' which challenged rap's portrayals of masculinity, women and violence, the Smithtown-born filmmaker asked Busta Rhymes to explain the link between machismo and homoeroticism in hip-hop. Busta was so unwilling to go there he got up and walked out of the room. Perhaps he’s lashing out now.
Six Degrees or Less of Separation
Aftermath Entertainment was founded by Dr. Dre in 1996. Dre was originally co-owner of Death Row Records with current Death Row CEO Suge Knight, but left that label in early 1996. Aftermath is distributed through Interscope, a unit of Universal Music Group. Universal Music Group, formerly MCA Music Entertainment, is the largest major label in the record industry. With a 25.5% market share, it is one of the Big Four record labels. It is owned by French media conglomerate Vivendi Universal. They have some of the world's biggest artists including Mariah Carey (huge gay following), Eminem (no comment), Kanye West (hates homophobia), and 50 Cent (has lesbian mother). It also owns one of the largest music publishing businesses of the world, the Universal Music Publishing Group.
"Universal Music" was originally the music company attached to film studio Universal Pictures.
The irony of this latest attack on gays from the hip hop community is that there will be many gays and lesbians dancing their asses off to this song and will probably never even catch what Busta said.
Currently, Busta’s single “Touch It,” which is out on the Aftermath/Interscope label, is number 5 on the Billboard Hot Rap Tracks Chart.
A big thanks to Seattle’s Jeff Hobbs for passing the clip along to me.

I really thank you and all responsible persons for the media on this verbal hate crime. Because i listen to music to understand, i heard the slip of the lip and i do not buy or recommend his music / products; and that goes for any other homophobic bastard.

to add to my previous post i just want to say if you are gay, bi-sexual or just trade. I want to encourage you to be real with yourselves and think about what you listen to and realize verbal language is a step away from physical abuse or even death.

Hey I know it doesnt make a difference at all but I did want to point out that DMX is the rapper who says the derogatory line. NOT Busta Rhymes. I just wanted to point that out. Although it is Busta's remix, he shouldnt get sooo much flack for something that someone else said/wrote. Fault him for having it on his remix but not for saying it. We could fault DMX but we are used to his gay bashing lyrics by now aren't we? But it doesnt matter, we could just as easily laugh at DMX for his drug use and volatile behavior.

Instigator,
According to your logic ("acceptance will come eventually") our forbearers (the original group who were "lynched and shot") would have done nothing and we would all still be on the plantation.
Resistance is Resistance and must come from all sides at once.
I'm constantly amazed by hate directed towards one group of minorities by members of another minority group.
Whatever your feelings are, Busta, re: homosexuals/homosexuality remember that, at one point (not so long ago) blacks were considered sub-human and disposable ("fuck you nigga, I shot at ya").
While you are probably homophobic, I suspect the inclusion of that particular line ("fuck you faggot, I shot at ya") was precisely to incur controversy and grow record sales; unless you are so overwhelmed by hate that you were forced to include that line in your song.
I don’t appreciate you making money off my back (there’s an image for ya!). I don’t want your “total acceptance” I just don’t want your hate spewed my way.
BTW Instigator my “predilection” is for chocolate ice cream.
My orientation is gay.

"be happy that you are not being lynched and arrested..."
White gays are lynched by white boys and black gays are lynched by black boys all over this country--every month... assaulted-- every minute.

What gets to me is why gay are seeking total acceptance from people?People are having enuff trouble accepting people of different color and diff nationalities as it is.You should be happy enough that you are not being lynched and arrested for your predilictions.Stop whinging and give it time, acceptance will come eventually.
