As we come to the end of the nation's observance of Black Histoy Month and kick off Women's Herstory Month, we are greeted with the sad news of Black lesbian author Octavia Butler's passing over the weekend. Although there has been virtually no mention of the fact that she was a lesbian in the few news stories reporting her death, Butler, a lesbian, was regarded as one of the most influential Black wriiters of all time. The loss of her life at such a young age is heartbreaking.
Octavia was a great person we still mourn her death.

I think this is an excellent information, IT doesn't matter if she was a lesbian woman because I realized she was a talented writer, I'd like to read some of her books or works soon.

It was truly a shock when I saw your headline on Octavia Butler. I admired her so much. But I never knew she was a lesbian. I don't even think she appears on The Blacklist.
Her talent as a storyteller will truly be missed.
