I am not sure why you aren't working for the Mayor. LA needs gay leadership like you. I read the times and was completely suprised to find that you were not only a lesbian but black as well. i am very proud to be a part of this community because of people like you.

I think it is significant that council members were taken aback by the presence of LGBT protesters at their meeting. Like so many in the majority population, they are unaware of the impact of their actions and words until it is called to their attention. Those who were aware, were caught in the act of promoting discrimination.

Our presence and our words are important and do make a difference. Business as usual is not when it is challenged.

It is also encouraging to know that there will be a meeting between Rosendahl and Price. It is the building of relationships that tears down stereotypes. I hope that meeting goes well and will develop into more understandings and additional meetings.
